Golden Temple Antique Painted Photograph
- Sourced in Rajasthan
The painted photographs of India were introduced in the late 1800s and played a prominent role in Rajasthani visual culture and history. Though greatly affected by the emergence of color photography in India in the 1970s, these images can still occasionally be seen throughout family homes, royal forts, and in palaces and museums.
The frames are original and though solidly constructed, show the natural aging of an antique. Additionally, as they are original, these are likely not framed with archival materials.
